A short glossary#
- Reward claim
- A post’s calculated weight in the payout formula. It is not a guaranteed number of tokens.
- Reward shares / rshares
- The weight contributed by voting. This is an accounting unit, distinct from a token balance.
- Content constant
- The parameter c in R² + 2cR. It controls where the square term becomes dominant.
- Mana
- Regenerating voting capacity. In Hybla’s design, positive mana has seven days of capacity.
- Curation
- Allocating voting weight to posts. Eligible curators receive a share of a post’s payout.
- Recent claims
- A decaying ledger used in the rolling payout denominator. Paid claims continue to decay.
- Power-down
- Withdrawal of staked native tokens into liquid form over a defined period.
- Scheduled issuance
- New supply created on the protocol’s regular schedule. Separate from conversion-related supply changes.
- Voting ring
- A coordinated group directing votes to benefit its members. Many accounts do not necessarily mean independent participants.
- Zipf-like distribution
- A rank distribution with a few large outcomes and a long tail. It describes a possible pattern, not a property guaranteed by a quadratic reward formula.
